Why St. Mary's...

St. Mary’s is home to generations of families. It is an institution rich in a heritage of faith, family and education. We are proud of our excellent academic performance, and proud of the promising future for our students.

The programs we offer will challenge your child to become a global thinker and a lifelong learner.  Through the education of mind, body, and spirit our students strive to become responsible leaders, loving members of the community and advocates for social justice throughout the world.

St. Mary’s is hope, security, and happiness where a true sense of family and community abounds.  It is in this setting that we focus on excellence in education and commitment to the betterment of the whole child.

Students of St Mary’s value their education “because we can get a blessing at church” Vincent (1st) and “we take care of people and help them “Yanna (1st).  “We are close like a family” Kaitlyn (5th), and “St. Mary’s teaches an extra subject that public schools don’t have.  That subject is religion” Haegen (6th).  “I believe in the Body and Blood, and I enjoy the freedom to talk about religion” Kenadie (6th).  “The teachers are nice.  I make friends easier and there is a better education” Trevor (7th). "I expect myself to always try my hardest no matter how difficult the task may be.  Here at St. Mary's they push you to always exceed expectations" Madyson (2011 Grad).  "It makes you a different person in so many different aspects.  I think it's made me a much better person than I might be without St. Mary's" Suzanne (2011 Grad).

Parents bring their kids
to St Mary’s Catholic School...

...“To receive an education in an environment with a strong academic foundation; and where the students learn self-discipline, self- respect, commitment, love of God and others, and community involvement.  Families take an active part in the education of the kids and it’s amazing to be at a school where staff can be dedicated to their work AND their faith.”

...
“because a good education is so much more than the “three R’s”.  The sense of community at St Mary’s is amazing and adds so much to the school experience.  I appreciate the fact that SMS creates well-rounded students by emphasizing character and spirituality instead of just academics.”

...“The quality of students found at St Mary's provides an influence on my child that I feel cannot be duplicated in public schools.”

...“St. Mary's School instills religious and moral values that are important to our family. “

...“We can’t say enough about St. Mary’s!  We discovered that our son is Autistic through the carful eye of one of the teachers while our son was in the Early Learning Center.  Both his psychologist and pediatrician have commented on his progress and feel that it has a large part to do with the school he attends.  The doctors requested that his teachers fill out questionnaires regarding his behavior at school and each year we bring school work and notes from teachers with us to his doctors.  The doctors are amazed with the curriculum and one on one attention the kids receive.  They often comment about how polite all our boys are and respectful of others during their visit.  Through many of our son’s illnesses and issues, the teachers have worked with him and supported him.  His classmates are so good to him and never criticize him for being different.  St. Mary’s is like a family to us and would not consider our children going anywhere else.”

...“St. Mary’s is a very welcoming environment for all religious denominations.  We are not members of the St. Mary’s Church, however we strongly believe in the Christian religious education provided to our children, and the values and morals infused in everyday life at St. Mary’s School.  Our children are guided by a superb administration and experienced, dedicated and genuinely caring teaching professionals.  We know our children are in excellent care where they can flourish academically, spiritually, and with community service engagement.”

...“St. Mary’s School allows my children a quality education and builds etiquette, strong ethics, and respect to human life and individuals.  The school has enforced manners in my children that they use on a daily basis.  They build on my Catholic faith, but the school does not force the Catholic faith among the children.  I feel it makes my child well rounded as a person to go forth in our community.”

...“On a daily basis we see the positive influences St. Mary's School has on our children.  They are taught during Mass, in the classroom and by example how to follow in Jesus' steps daily.  Academically, they are challenged, encouraged and expected to perform their best.  They are being provided an incredible foundation which they will benefit from their entire lives.”

...“For the smaller class size, personal attention, and the fact that all the parents have made the commitment and sacrifice to send their children to a private school. We love that all the teachers seem to know all the kids by name even if they have not had them in their class.”

...“We heard about the wonderful education and the family atmosphere of St. Mary’s when we moved here 6 years ago.  On our first visit to the school, we were impressed with the Early Learning Center and knew that this school would be a perfect fit for our child.    As a non-Catholic family, we have stayed at St. Mary's because of the small classroom environment and the sense of community that the school provides through all grade levels, and we value the religion that is being taught and have never felt like an outsider for being non-Catholic.  For these reasons, our 2 younger children will be joining their older sibling at St. Mary's in the fall.  St. Mary's is a wonderful school and we feel proud to be a part of the St. Mary's family.”
